The Rogers Royals placed fifth among 27 teams in the Coon Rapids Invitational on Thursday at Bunker Hills.
Minnetonka won the 27-hole event with 463, followed by Stillwater 463, Armstrong 475, Spring Lake Park 477, Rogers 478, Roseville Area 479 and Maple Grove 482.
Jordan Rykal led Rogers, placing sixth with 6-over-par 114. Corey Muenzhuber shot 117, Zach Hnath 123, Morgan Rask 124, Andy Suedbeck 125, and Kyle Korva 125.
Osseo’s Dalton Charboneau was medalist with 107.
Muenzhuber had two bad holes and otherwise was only 3-over for the day, said coach Dan Bursheim. Rykal was strong off the tee with his driver.
“I like the grouping of the other guys but we really needed a stronger showing out of the three to six players to move up,” said the coach.
Rogers resumes conference play at Monticello on Monday.
