Darvill A. Martin, 77, of Elk River, died peacefully Monday, April 16, 2012.
He was a foster father to numerous children in the Sherburne County area. He was an avid outdoorsman and also enjoyed gardening and landscaping. Mr. Martin worked for Montgomery Wards for many years before retirement.
His funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. today (Saturday, April 21) at Elk River Lutheran Church, 19437 Evans St. N.W., at Highway 169 behind Culver’s. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Bailey’s Station, Big Lake. Dare’s Funeral Home of Elk River made the arrangements.
Memorials are preferred.
He is survived by his wife, Janice; step-son, Mark Jalbert; brother, Darwin; niece, Tammy (Tod Morey; nephew, Terry (Cassandra) Martin; great-nephews, Isaac Larson, Ryan Martin; great-niece Jennie Martin; and by cousins, other relatives and friends, and life-long friends, Eileen and Bruce Karna and their children.
