Elk River-Rogers-Zimmerman girls lacrosse absorbed its first loss, 13-12 to Champlin Park in double overtime, on Wednesday in Champlin.
“Fans got their moneys worth,” said ERZ coach Jeannette Bankes.
Emily Antony and Mackenzie Perna tallied four goals each for ERZ (2-1). Kayla Mills added two, and Michelle Kilmstra and Jordon Mclaughlin one each. Antony made four assists, Perna and Mills two each, and McLaughlin, Emily Heid and Courtney Reistad one each.
Bankes cited Kim Scott, Courtney Reistad, Holly Skalsky and Alleah Baltzer for leading a good defensive effort against a solid Rebel team (2-0) along with goalie Tori Herrmann, who stopped 13 of 26 shots.
ERZ will host Blaine on Monday.
