Jerry Davis retiring from Elk River Arena
Jerry Davis is retiring after 12 years with the Elk River Arena.
He came to the job in 1999. He previously managed the rink in Princeton.
Elk River Arena Manager Rich Czech said Davis’ experience has been very valuable. He brought a knowledge of the arena and creative ideas to the job, Czech said during a presentation at the Monday, April 16 Elk River City Council meeting.
Like everyone else the arena has had budget issues, Czech said, and Davis has been good to come up with better and cheaper solutions to issues that still resulted in quality work. Czech added: “We would sort of tease a little bit about how he would ‘Jerry’-rig stuff.”
Mayor John Dietz presented Davis with a plaque in appreciation for his years with the city.
