Softball: Royals beat Zimmerman 10-8 and SC Tech 4-3
The Rogers Royals outlasted the Zimmerman Thunder 10-8 on Monday, their third straight win.
Kate Kemmetmueller was 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs and two RBI for Rogers. Christana Hajder had a double and two RBI. Courtney Reinitz was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Abbi Lien 1-for-2 with two runs and Alex Cassady 1-for-1 with a run.
Kemmetmueller started on the mound, giving up fours (two earned). Hajder finished and got the win allowing four runs (three earned) in five innings.
“We made three miscues today which put us in some tough situations,” said coach Dan Ohlgren, “but our clutch hitting improved and we were able to sneak out a win.”
Zimmerman’s Gabby Antolak went 3-for-4 with a double. Ashley Ryding was 2-for-3 (two doubles) and Carlie Lage 2-for-4 (one double).
Rogers (3-2) will play at Buffalo on Tuesday. Next for Zimmerman is Foley at home on Thursday.
Rogers 4, St. Cloud Tech 3
The Royals edge St. Cloud Tech 4-3 on Friday, outhitting the Tigers 14-5 but leaving many runners on base.
Courtney Reinitz was 3-for-4 with an RBI, Madi Anderson 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI, Amy Trisko 2-for-3 with a double and RBI, Jo Baker 2-for-4, Kate Kemmetmueller 2-for-4, Abbi Lien 1-for-3 with an RBI, and Madi Mikolich 1-for-2 with two steals.
Hajder pitched the distance, striking out five.
