Calvin Herbert Anderson, 86, of Sauk Rapids, formerly Zimmerman, died Thursday, March 29, 2012, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
He was born Nov. 3, 1925, in Aitkin, Minn., to Herbert and Alice (Grandholm) Anderson. He married Marian Hennek Sept. 3, 1943. The couple lived in Fridley before moving to Zimmerman.
Mr. Anderson retired from Pioneer Engineering. He also farmed and ran the Hill City Campgrounds on Hill Lake for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed deer hunting and fishing.
His memorial service was Tuesday, April 10 at Freshwaters United Methodist Community, Lake Campus in Zimmerman, officiated by the Rev. Loren Ferch.
Survivors include his sons, Charles (Lena), Dale (Cindy), Dean, Keith, Bruce (Kathy) and Michael (Vicki); daughters, Patricia and Elaine; brother, Ray (Muriel); 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian; son, Dwight “Ike”; sister, Marie; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
