Golf: Rogers girls 5th in Miss. 8 meet at Becker

The Rogers girls placed fifth among seven team in their Mississippi 8 opener at Becker on Tuesday, with Monticello winning the meet. Lexi Bolland of Buffalo and Kourtney Williams of Becker tied for medalist with 40.

Haley Jung  led Rogers with 40. Maddie Hol had 45, Rachel Dodd 47 and Kendra Groenwold 53.

“It was windy and cold, but that didn’t stop the girls from firing the best nine hole score we have carded in two years,”  said Rogers coach Durand Onell. “Senior Captain Haley Jung really stepped up today and led the team.”
