Baseball: Becker tops Rogers 8-4 in Royals opener
The Rogers Royals lost their baseball opener to the Becker Bulldogs 8-4 on Tuesday.
Mike Smith had a two-run homer and three RBI, and Caleb Baumgarten a triple and two RBI, for Becker (1-1), while Shane Busch pitched the distance, giving up eight hits and four walks.
For Rogers, Michael Terres was 2-for-3 (double, RBI), Adam Nauth 2-for-4, Austin Barbeln 1-for-3 (sac fly), Will Terres 1-for-4 (double, RBI), Grant Fingalson 1-for-3 (double) and Neal Smith 1-for-3.
Scott Neubauer pitched four innings (five runs) and took the loss. Erik Bremer and Bryanlee Santiago-Martinez finished.
Rogers will host STMA on Thursday.
