The Board of Directors of the Three Rivers Community Foundation (TRCF) has authorized $50,000 to be awarded for grants and scholarships in 2012. The board also agreed to take on a matching challenge of raising $50,000, for a total of $100,000, which when achieved will put the endowment over $1 million.
The theme for the 2012 campaign is “Thanks a Million.”
The TRCF board voted unanimously to an offer from the Initiative Foundation to raise $50,000, which will be matched through a $50,000 McKnight Foundation grant. Interest from the TRCF endowment is annually awarded for grants and scholarships.
Last year the TRCF awarded $24,825, and more than $317,000 in local grants since 1994. In 2010 the foundation awarded more than $18,000 and a total of $94,000 since 2007 in local scholarships
The board also welcomed new directors; they are George Sanford and Tony Brisbin from Zimmerman, Roger Lamp from Rogers, Jessica Stockamp from Otsego and Sandi Yeado and Michelle Eder from Elk River.
