Coach says – “Maddie and Rachel were our best players as freshmen and I expect those two to be solid. I will have eight players fighting for the last four spots on the varsity roster. … Since we did not graduate any seniors, we should improve from last year (6th in conference). I have complete confidence in the girls that they can compete (for the title) this year. … We have 21 players, our most ever.”

Coach says – “We are fortunate to have quality starting pitching and significant depth at the position. We will start six seniors on opening day, an experienced lineup to provide leadership for freshman (Terres) and two sophomores (Nauth, Santiago-Martinez) who will start. As long as we stay healthy and do the little things right, I anticipate a highly-competitive season.”

Coach says – “The Royals return four of five all-conference players (state runner-up McCabe Buege now at Central Florida). We were ranked in the top three in Class 3A the entire 2011 season and have the experience and maturity to remain a top five team in 2012.”

Coach says – “We should have some strong sprint relays. A lot of fast underclassmen came out  this year.  We also have some younger distance runners who’ve been out running on their own to prepare. We are young and inexperienced so I think we’ll get better as the season goes on.  The warm weather has helped us get a head start on that.”
