St. Pat’s Day run attracts brilliant crowd, sunshine

The first ever McCoy’s Pub St. Patrick’s Day 5K run and walk attracted nearly 300

As runners in the 5K run and walk ran along the north side of Main Street, one family took a more leisurely pace on the south side in front of Handke Center.

There were 201 registered by race day, and another 85 that registered on the day of the event.

The winner of the first-time event, which is expected to become an annual one, was Matt Olsen. Jill Varty finished second, and Reed Marohn finished third.

Courtney Pouliot and Michelle Toutloff were among the runners to get in the spirit of the run with their outfits, head gear and painted faces.
