Ken R. Pipenhagen of Isle, formerly of Elk River, died peacefully Wednesday, March 21, 2012, in the St. Cloud Hospital after a battle with cancer.
He was born to William and Clara Pipenhagen on Sept. 11, 1933. He graduated from Anoka High School in 1952 and served in the Army in Germany.
Ken was a barber in Elk River for 44 years before retiring to Isle in 2003.
Ken enjoyed fishing and camping, his dog Misty, working in his yard, and especially his grandchildren.
His funeral service will be held today (Saturday, March 24) at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 225 East 2nd Ave., Wahkon, Minn. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Ken is survived by his wife, Bernice; son, Jon (Deb) Pipenhagen; daughters, Lorie (Todd) Anderson, and Tami (Lonnie) Johnson; and six wonderful grandchildren, Alex, Kelly, Aaron, Willow, Anna and Gabe.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Herb, Gordy, Donald, Ray, and Dale; and sister, Dorothy Loger.
