Hockey: Elks’ Curtis, Franke both Star-Trib first-team All-Metro picks

Elk River hockey stars Anders Franke and Jonna Curtis were each named to the Star-Tribune All-Metro first team.

Anders Franke

About Franke, the paper said: “Won all 16 of the Elks’ games, stopping 92 percent of shots faced and allowing 2.16 goals per game. Model of consistency throughout his four-year career. Allowed two or fewer goals 14 times this season and posted five shutouts. Undecided on college.”

Jonna Curtis

About Curtis, the paper stated: “Top forward in the competitive Northwest Suburban Conference who finished a stellar career as the program’s scoring leader with 279 points. Hard-working player who developed great hands. Scored 36 goals and added 25 assists this season. Earned praised for finishing her chances while making her teammates better.”
