The 10th annual Guardian Angels Gala Benefit, using a Kentucky Derby theme, rode to a win Saturday by raising over $50,000 in profit to begin a new senior wellness program.

More than 300 people, some dressed in Derby attire, ate Derby food and participated in silent and live auctions.

Bill Hudson, WCCO television personality, was the Derby host. The gala, titled An Evening at the Derby, was held at Greenhaven Golf and Banquet Center in Anoka.

Proceeds will be used to fund the first phase of the senior wellness exercise program and equipment for residents of the senior apartments, Guardian Angels by the Lake, the Guardian Angels Care Center and the community.

In the future, the program will include therapeutic exercise equipment focusing on muscle strength and balance, in-
