List the activities you have participated in and tell of your proudest accomplishments:

For sports I participated in fall and winter dance team and track last year. This year, I have participated in cross country running, Nordic skiing, and this will be my second year on the track team. I am also involved in Math Team, DECA and Speech Team. My proudest accomplishment would be when I received Rookie of the Year for cross country running.

What is your favorite class and why? What is your favorite subject? My favorite class would have to be photography because I absolutely love taking and editing pictures and I am glad I get the opportunity to learn how to become a better photographer.

What are your future plans? As of now, I am planning on going to a four-year college after high school. I will either go to a school somewhere in Minnesota or out of state. I’m looking into colleges in California, South Carolina and the Chicago area.

What are your hobbies and/or personal interests? I love taking pictures; it’s rare that I don’t have my camera with me everywhere I go. I also love running, spending time with family and friends, dancing, skiing, and during the summer I absolutely love going to the beach more than anything.

Who is your hero, if you have one, and why? My hero is my older brother Dallas. He is such an inspiration in everything he does. He has such strong faith, he’s majorly talented, always positive, caring, funny and he’s the person I look up to most. I am so honored and blessed to be his sister.

Tell of a most memorable experience that relates to school, personal interests or a hobby: One of many memorable experiences in my high school career so far would have to be when both my brother and I were nominated from Math Team for snow week royalty. Sharing that experience with Dallas his last year of high school is something I’ll never forget.

How do you demonstrate leadership? I try to demonstrate leadership by working hard to achieve goals, setting a good example for others and displaying a positive attitude towards everything I do. Also, I believe in just being yourself and not letting what other people think about you change who you are.

How do you approach academics to achieve success? I take as many advanced classes as I can and involve myself in a variety of extra-curricular activities.

What special projects have you done, in or out of school? One of a few projects I have done was I took my brother’s senior pictures, along with a few of his friends’ as well. It was a fun experience!

Why do you think you won this award? I believe I won this award because I try my best in school and really work hard in everything I do. I try to be friendly and not judgmental towards everyone, and I do my best to be a good example for others.

What does it mean to you? This award means the world to me. To know that this is the way my teachers look at me is such an honor. I’m always trying to be the best I can be, and to know that someone recognizes it gives me a great feeling of success and achievement.
