Bailey, Charles D., age 84 of Plymouth, formerly of Elk River, passed away suddenly on February 24, 2012.
Preceded in death by his brothers John H. Bailey and Albert H. Bailey.
He is survived by beloved wife of 58 years, Ann; a loving and devoted father and grandfather of Mary Ellen Benninger (Tom), Will and Claire; Peter Bailey (Leah), Charlie and Elise; Kathy Roberts (John), Jack, Carolyn and Morgan; Carolyn Bailey (Panos Lambrianides), Luke and Anna; sister, Elizabeth Watson (John); many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Chuck was a graduate of Elk River High School and attended the U of M. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for the family business, Elk River Concrete Products, a division of Cretex Companies and served as a board member since 2001.
He was a member of the Rochester Rotary. An avid sportsman, Chuck was active his entire life in snow skiing, tennis, golf, sailing and hockey. He had a great fondness for dogs.
Funeral service Saturday 1 p.m. at the Wayzata Community Church; 125 Wayzata Blvd. E., Wayzata. Private interment. Visitation Friday 5-8 p.m. at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel of Plymouth, 37th Ave. N. and Vicksburg Lane N., Plymouth.
