Rogers plow truck ends up in ditch

In a year of firsts for Rogers, plowing the streets of what used to be Hassan Township was one of them this morning.

It was not a good day for one Rogers plow driver, however, who backed right into a ditch along Edgewood Road.

“Welcome to Hassan,” the plow driver told an ECM Publishers associate.

A Rogers plow truck went off the road into a ditch on Edgewood Road in a former neighborhood of Hassan Township.

The plow was later pulled out of the ditch with a tow truck from Burda’s towing out of Rogers.

Motorists are finding difficult driving conditions in much of the Minnesota today (Feb. 29) as the winter storm continues to impact the state.

As of noon today, the Minnesota State Patrol is reporting more than 280 crashes since Tuesday afternoon.

Of those crashes, 30 involved injuries to occupants and nine involved jackknifed semi-truck tractors and trailers, according to Jesse Grabow, a spokesperson for the patrol.

State Troopers have also responded to an additional 316 vehicles that slid off the roadway and needed to be towed.
