Community & People Head Start bus collides with vehicle in Elk River Published February 29, 2012 at 9:46 am Two people were transported to a hospital after this crash shortly after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the intersection of Proctor Avenue and Highland Road. Witnesses report that the Head Start bus was southbound on Proctor Avenue and the car was on Highland stopped at the stop sign. The car pulled out in front of the bus. The car struck the left side of the bus as it was traveling down Proctor. The driver of the car, a 17-yea- old Ramsey girl was injured and transported to the hospital. A 16-year-old girl who was a passenger in the car was also transported to the hospital. The driver of the car was cited for failing to yield. There were no children on the bus at the time of the accident, and the driver of the bus and an aide on the bus were not hurt. The bus was damaged from the impact from remained intact for the most part. The driver was not hurt.
