Michael Schreiber scored his 1,000th career point for Rogers but the Royals were otherwise stymied by the Delano Tigers in a 63-47 loss at home on Saturday evening.

Schreiber, 6-8 senior center recently chosen for the state all-star series, needed nine points to reach 1,000. He scored 13, eight under his average, and got No. 1,000 on a layup in the second half.

The Royals didn’t get much offense going. Chase Cleveland was next with nine points and Sam Spilles with seven.
Guards led the Tigers (18-6) as Toby Hanson scored 23 points and Zach Checkal 15.

Schreiber is the second Royal boy to reach 1,000. Tony Cain, Class of 2009, has the record of 1,372 points.

Next for Rogers is a crucial conference game against St. Michael-Albertville at home on Tuesday. STMA is 9-1 and Rogers 8-2 in Mississippi 8 play.
