Basketball: Thunder girls trip Foley 48-33 in conference finale

The Zimmerman Thunder beat a team higher in the standings, the Foley Falcons, 48-33 on Friday evening to close out the regular season on a high note.

Heather McCormick notched 21 points for the Thunder and Brooke Borchardt was next with 9.

Zimmerman finished 4-8 in the Granite Ridge Conference and will take an 8-17 overall record into sectionals. Foley is 6-6 and 15-11.

The Thunder will open Section 8AAA play Tuesday evening, probably with a game on the road.
