City Council makes appointments to boards

The Elk River City Council has made the following three-year appointments to city boards and commissions.

•Mark Konietzko was appointed to the Planning Commission. He is a business process consultant with Allianz Life. He has been a member of the Elk River Heritage Preservation Commission.

•Dennis Chuba, Scott Hagen and Steve Rohlf were reappointed to the Energy City Commission. Chuba works in construction sales for Chuba Home Improvement, Hagen works in systems integration and Rohlf works in building and land development for Cornerstone Auto Resource. Rohlf was also reappointed to the Heritage Preservation Commission.

•Ronald Johnson was reappointed to the Ice Arena Commission. He works in financial planning with Johnson Financial Services.

•David Anderson was reappointed to the Parks and Recreation Commission. Anderson is the director of concrete quality at Cretex Concrete Products.

•Daryl Thompson was reappointed to the Elk River Utilities Commission. Thompson is self-employed and a former Elk River City Council member.

All appointments and reappointments were unanimous except for one. Council Member Paul Motin voted against reappointing Anderson to the Parks and Recreation Commission. Motin cited several reasons, concluding that Anderson has been on the commission and as its chair for too long.

The council, however, voted 4-1 to reappoint Anderson.
