Basketball: Rogers boys drub Monticello 78-49
Michael Schreiber ruled the lanes as the Rogers Royals breezed to a 78-49 win over the Monticello Magic on Tuesday evening at home.
The 6-8 senior center scored 22 points and snagged 11 rebounds, while sinking 8-for-8 at the free throw line.
Garrett Hol added 14 points along with 2 blocks and 2 steals amid a sharp defensive performance.
Sam Spilles, off the bench, notched 11 points 3 steals, 3 rebounds and a block. Josh Turnquist dded 8 points and Chase Cleveland 7 for the Royals, now 6-2 in the Mississippi 8 and 14-6 overall.
Hayden Laimer scored 14 for Monticello (3-6, 3-18).
Rogers will play at Buffalo on Friday.
