Elk River Police investigating why individual fled and then collapsed

Elk River Police are investigating to find out why an individual got agitated at a local business, fled from police when they arrived and then collapsed.

An individual who became agitated, had the police called on him and then upon their arrival fled and collapsed has been taken to Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapid.

Elk River Police were called to the area near Dolphin Car Wash on a report of someone being agitated, according to Elk River Police Chief Brad Rolfe.

The person fled when police arrived at the scene and collapsed while trying to get away from authorities.

Elk River Ambulance was called and transported the individual to the hospital.

Police remain at the scene of the incident and are investigating.
