Wrestling: Royals fall to Monti 60-9 in conference finale

The Rogers Royals were humbled by the Monticello Magic 60-9 on Thursday evening in the regular-season finale at Monticello.

Winning for the Royals (7-12) were Clay LeVasseur, who stayed unbeaten with a first-period pin, and Tyler Eicher with a 6-2 decision. Phillip Anderson lost 9-3 to No. 3 ranked Eric Borgeois. Michael Voorhees gave  up a reversal in the final 20 seconds and lost 12-9.

Rogers was 1-5 in the Mississippi 8 and 7-12 overall in the regular season.

Next is the Section 5AAA team tournament Saturday, Nov. 18, at Maple Grove.
