Basketball: Royal boys clip Becker 78-46

The Rogers Royals cruised 78-46 over Becker on Thursday evening, with mediocre shooting but a tenacious press that took a toll on the Bulldogs.

Ten players scored, led by Michael Schreiber with 16 points and 5 rebounds.  Austin Barbeln notched 13 points and 4 assists. Josh Turnquist had 10 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Garrett Hol and Sam Spilles scored 9 each and Nate Roehl and Nick Runge 7 each.

Rogers (5-2 conference, 13-6 overall) made eight 3-pointers, three by Barbeln.

Josh Nohner scored 11 points and Tommy Benson 10 for Becker (1-7, 5-13). Thousand-pointer Damien Reinke had early foul trouble and scored 7 points.

Next for the Royals is Monticello at home Tuesday.
