Basketball: Thunder boys thump Hibbing 68-52

The Zimmeran Thunder won a Saturday matinee against section rival Hibbing 68-52 at home Saturday.

Jake Wilson sank 17 points, shooting 8-for-12 including a dunk, and pulled down 7 rebounds for the Thunder (15-4).

Caleb Lunning notched 15 points and 5 rebounds, Nate Christensen 12 points and 5 assists, Kyle Connelly 8 points, and Corey Foyt 6 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Ethan Lunning snagged 12 rebounds, leading the Thunder to a 36-30 edge.

For Hibbing (12-7), Connor Perry hit 17 points, Tyler Steinke 14 and Nick Milan 12.

Zimmerman, ranked No. 9 in Class 3A, will play at Buffalo on Thursday.
