Hockey: Rogers girls beat Orono 6-3
The Rogers Royals continued their success against ranked Class A teams, beating the Orono Spartans 6-3 at Orono on Tuesday evening.
Rogers was 4-for-8 on power plays with Emily Antony, Mackenzie Perna, Kaitlyn Braiedy and Madison Lehn coming through. Antony and Lehn also had even-strength goals.
Becca Leshovsky made 31 saves in the win, giving up goals to Madison Martini, Millie Luedtke and Elle Martini. Orono’s Casey Hartfield gave up six goals in 37 shots.
Antony has 28 goals and Lehn is next with 10.
Antony, Braiedy and Kelsey Johnston each made two assists for the Royals and Cassie Conrad had one.
No. 10 ranked Rogers (13-9-2) is 2-0 against No. 5 Orono (19-4-1) and 2-0 against No. 7 Mound-Westonka (16-7-1) while splltting with No. 11 Hutchinson (12-11).
Rogers will close the regular season at Princeton on Friday evening.
