Hockey: Andover goalie stymies Elk boys 2-1

The Andover Huskies got 47 saves from Chase Perry and stymied the Elk River Elks 2-1 on Tuesday evening at Elk River Arena.

The Elks had a 48-21 edge in shots but got just one past Perry. The goal was scored by freshman Peter Jones on a power play at 5:29 of the second period, Taylor Bryan assisting, tying the score 1-1.

Jared McComber would put the Huskies ahead to stay at 12:21 of the third period. Tyler Tomberlin had their first goal.

The Elks are 7-5-1 in the NWSC and 10-8-2 overall, while Andover mproved to  10-3-1 and 13-5-1 with its second win over the Elks this season.

The Elks will host Coon Rapids on Thursday evening.
