Basketball: Knights tumble Royal boys 76-55
St. Michael-Albertville pummeled Rogers 76-55 in a duel of two teams tied for first place on Thursday evening.
Michael Wiese notched 25 points and 8 rebounds for the Knights, while Michael Monney chipped in 18 points and Brian Ferry 11.
Michael Schreiber tallied 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Royals (10-7) but STMA limited second-leading scorer Josh Turnquist to 6 points. Chase Cleveland was next the 9 points.
The Knights (11-5) made 24 of 33 free shots to Rogers’ 5 of 13, and outrebounded the Royals 41-30.
Buffalo and STMA are now 4-1 in conference, and Rogers and Big Lake are each 3-2.
Rogers will play at Cambridge-Isanti on Tuesday evening.
