Hockey: Elk boys fall behind, lose to Anoka 4-2
The Anoka Tornadoes got the first two goals and stayed in front to defeat Elk River 4-2 on Saturday in Anoka.
Dylan Adler and Tyler Hoag scored in the first eight minutes for Anoka, which reversed an earlier 3-2 loss to the Elks.
Andrew Zerban got the Elk on the board at 11:32 of the first. Anoka was back up by two when Anders Skaalerud scored 2:52 into the second.
The score stayed 4-2 until just 2:35 remained in the game when Jake Jaremko connected for the Elks, assisted by Austin Larson.
Anoka and goalie Robbie Goor (34 saves) hung on, and got a clincher from Ben Sjodin with 30 seconds left.
Elk goalie Anders Franke stopped 26 of 30.
The Elks are 6-4 in the NWSC and 9-7-1 overall, and Anoka is 3-8-1 and 5-11-1.
The Elks will host Centennial on Tuesday.
