Swimming: Elks win every event, beat Pirates 100-62

The Elk River-Rogers-Zimmerman-Spectrum swimmers won every event in a 100-62 victory over Park Center on Thursday evening in the Pirates’ pool.

“We swam off events tonight and gave some of the young guys a chance to place in a varsity meet,” said coach Denise Eidem. “We had some nice swims by Hlavachek, Kohorst, and Mayo, all eighth graders.”

The score was 100-23 after eight events when the Elks stopped counting points.

The Elks, 5-1 in the conference and 5-2 overall, will swim in the Cambridge-Isanti Invitational on Saturday.
