Basketball: Thunder boys outlast Princeton 70-66

With five double-digit scorers, the Zimmerman Thunder held off the Princeton Tigers 70-66 in a Granite Ridge Conference game at home Tuesday evening.

Nate Christensen meshed 17 points, Jake Wilson 14, Adam Fordahl 12, Caleb Lunning 11 and Kyle Connelly 10 for the Thunder. Ethan Lunning had the other six. The Thunder made 11 steals, led by Wilson with three.

The Thunder led their Highway 169 neighbor 35-21 at the half, but the Tigers made a game of it, shooting 10-for-23 on 3-point shots. Princeton was led by John Jedneak with 21 points, Joss Jondahl with 17 and Jack Sinkel with 16.

Zimmerman are 4-1 in the GRC and 10-3 overall, and Princetonis 2-2 and 9-5.
