Hockey: Andover tips Elk boys in OT 3-2

Calvin Rak’s goal in overtime gave the Andover Huskies a 3-2 win over Elk River-Zimmerman on Saturday in Andover.

Rak got one past Elk goalie Anders Franke 3:12 into the extra session, assisted by Tyler Jokinen and Jared McComber.

The Elks led 1-0 after the first period on a goal by Mitch Kierstad (Jared McLaughin and Wyatt Ege assisting). Tyler Tomberlin tied it for Andover in the second period.

Jake Jaremko gave the Elks a short-lived lead at 5:32 of the third, assisted by Taylor Bryan. Christian Mohs replied for Andover at 6:24.

The Elks had a 34-24 edge in shots. Franke made 21 saves for the Elks and Chase Perry 32 for Andover.

ERZ is 5-3 in conference and 8-6-1 overall. Andovere is 7-3 and 10-5.

The Elks will host Armstrong on Thursday
