Basketball: Schrieber, Royals down Magic 76-62

With Michael Schreiber dominating the lanes, the Rogers Royals cruised 76-62 over the Monticello Magic on Thursday evening at Monticello.

The 6-8 senior who’s averaging over 22 points made 10 field goals inside while snagging 10 rebounds.

Josh Turnquist added 11 points and Nick Runge nine as the Royals improved to 2-0 in the Mississippi 8 and 8-4 overall.

Monticello was made seven 3-pointers to Rogers’ five, and hit 18 of 23 free shots while Rogers made 18, but the Magic couldn’t stop the Royals inside. Rogers had 25  2-pointesrs to 12 for Monticello.

Sam Taufen tallied 20 points and Will Bauman 17 for Monticello (1-2 conference, 1-10 overall).

Rogers will host Buffalo on Tuesday.
