Basketball: Surging Thunder girls beat Milaca 66-30

The Zimmerman girls have won four of their last five outings after handing Milaca a 66-30 loss on Tuesday evening in Milaca.

Amber Magnuson supplied 13 points, five rebounds, and three blocks. Jamie Schuster notched 11 points and six rebounds. Nikki Jurik scored 10 points.  Rebound leaders were  Kaitlyn Mason with  nine and Lexi Wiemeri with eight.

That was the first Granite Ridge Conference win for the Thunder, who are 1-3 in conference and 5-8 overall. Milaca is 0-3 and 2-10.

“I couldn’t be happier with where we are as a team,” said coach Lance Dalbey about the recent surge.  “The attitude has been positive, the effort has been great, and the focus on controlling the things we have control over is there.”

The Thunder will host Mora on Friday evening.
