Basketball: Elk girls lose to Blaine 42-33

Elk River girls basketball capped a tough week with a 42-33 loss to the Blaine Bengals on Friday evening in Blaine.

The bottom three teams in the NWSC are the Elks and Anoka, each 1-6, and Blaine at 2-6. The Elks also lost to Anoka, 60-53, on Tuesday.

Courtney Langiewicz sank 12 points, Alysha Heath 11 and Mickenzie Craft nine to lead the Bengals (3-10 overall).

Shelby Gracik tallied 11, Anna Rollag 10 and Jordyn Sohns eight for the Elks (5-7).

The Elks will host Andover on Tuesday.
