Object thrown from truck hits vehicle
A 39-year-old Elk River woman rang in the new year with a dent in her car.
She reported to police about 1:50 a.m. on Jan. 1 that while driving east down Highway 10 near Gary Street entrance to Lake Orono Park, an object was thrown from a vehicle and it hit her car.
She described the vehicle as a gray pick up truck with a gray topper. It was last seen turning north on Upland Avenue.
The truck was later located by police and stopped, according to Elk River Police Capt. Bob Kluntz.
Police were unable to immediately ascertain who may have thrown the item out of the vehile, but citations were issued to the suspects for alcohol-related offenses. Police are still investigating who may have thrown the item.
Vacant business hit, possibly for a toilet
Elk River Police were called to an unsecure business in the 18800 block of Dodge Avenue on the morning of Dec. 29.
They learned the business had been entered and several items were damaged inside the vacant property.
The only item that appears to be missing at this time is a toilet.
