Basketball: Royal girls drub Becker 54-21

The Rogers Royals settled the issue early, leading 37-9 at halftime, on the way to a 54-21 victory over the Becker Bulldogs at home Tuesday evening.

“The girls did a great job playing together on both ends of the court,” said coach Jeremy Digiovanni. “They moved the ball well and had good rhythm on offense while working hard and frustrating Becker on defense.”

During a 28-4 run, the Royals forced numerous turnovers and had good passing and shooting that continued the whole game.

Emily Reichert sank 17 points, Courtney McClay 12 and Jordyn Motter 11 for the Royals, now 1-1 in conference and 6-5 overall.

Becker dropped to 1-2 and 3-7.

Rogers will play at Simley in Inver Grove Heights on Friday.
