Council OKs levy, accepts donations
The Zimmerman City Council approved the city’s 2012 final tax levy of $1,168,652.
The council voted to approve the 2012 final levy with no changes, in order to prepare for potential fund shortfalls early next year related to the loss of LGA in 2011, and a variety of maintenance and construction needs of the city.
Mayor Dave Earenfight and the council also voted to accept donations totaling nearly $2,000 for the new hockey rink warming house from American Legion Post 560, Construction Materials Inc., The Bank of Elk River, Zimmerman Subway, Kellen Anderson, and Arlis and Margaret Olson.
The warming house is located with Zimmerman’s regular skating ice rink in the southwest corner of Lions Park just beyond the left-field fence of the Fred Schultz baseball field.
