Basketball: Annandale downs Rogers boys 55-45
Undefeated Annandale slowed down the Rogers Royals and beat them 55-45 on Thursday evening in Annandale.
The Royals (4-3), who had been averaging 72 points, had two bad halves shooting, including at the free throw line, 5-for-14.
Annandale shot poorly in the first half, trailing 15-12 at the break, but came alive in the second half, led by Brett Frobbe with four 3-point shots. Frobbe finished with 19 points. The Cardinals (4-0) had eight three-pointers in the game.
Michael Schreiber sank 16 points, Josh Turnquist 11, and Austin Barbeln nine for Rogers (4-3).
Next for the Royals is the Tartan tournament starting Wednesday when they face Hayfield at 2:45 p.m.
