The Rogers Royals took a 63-14 drubbing from Andover, then beat Zimmerman 27-12 in a match with six weighs double forfeits, at Andover on Wednesday evening.

Phillip Anderson had a pin against Andover and won 2-0 over Zimmerman’s Hunter Smith, to whom he lost earlier in the season. Connor Larson had a tech fall and forfeit. Tim Beach had a pin and a 6-5 loss.

Against Zimmerman, the 170 through 285 matches were double forfeits. The Royals wanted to keep their starters’ match counts down, said coach Christopher Donnay. With Gabe Martinez and Michael Voorhees sidelined, some younger wrestlers stepped in, the coach said.

Rogers finished the pre-holiday schedule 5-4 and will resume action Jan. 5 hosting Cambridge-Isanti.
