The Rogers Royals got another big game from their 6-7 and 6-8 stars, while adjusting to the absence of their point guard, in a 71-60 victory over St. Cloud Tech on Tuesday evening in St. Cloud.
Michael Schreiber, 6-8 center averaging about 25 points, sank 22 against the Tigers and dominated the lanes. Josh Turnquist, 6-7 forward, potted 22 points, hitting three of the team’s six 3-pointers.
Jack Anderson, senior point guard, is on crutches after twisting his right knee Saturday evening in a win over Elk River. He will have an MRI on Thursday.
Austin Barbeln and Nate Roehl took turns at the point. The Royals had some turnover problems at times but held the lead. They were up 36-31 at the half.
Garret Hul added nine points ad Barbeln eight for the Royals (4-2).
Keeping Tech (2-2) in the game until late were Andy Foley and Kevin Heysse with 19 points each, and the team’s free throw accuracy, 16-for-19.
The Royals will play at Annandale on Thursday.
