Brochure wins award

Six members of ISD 728 Community Education are the recipients of the 2012 Learning Resources Network (LERN) International Award for Excellence in Brochure Design.  The team won the prestigious award last week in New Orleans for their 2011 “Are YOU ready for the fun to begin?” Summer Camps brochure.

Members of the District 728 Community Education were recently awarded for their excellence in designing and creating a brochure. Shown with the plaque is Julia Nielsen, the assistant marketing and communications manager. The others (from left to right) are Kristi Waite, Noella Fath-Cutter, Pauline Knox and Cory Franson.

Interestingly, this was the first time in its more than 50-year history that Community Education produced a summer camps program brochure.

The six were recognized not only for their artistic, content and creative work, but also for the effectiveness in partnering, marketing, managing and measuring the program for kindergarteners through fifth grade throughout the school district.  Led by Assistant Marketing and Communications Manager Julia Nielsen, the team of Noella Fath-Cutter, Kristi Waite, Pauline Knox and Cory Franson collaborated on the award-winning project.  Their combined efforts resulted in among others an increase of 77 registrants within a two-week period, a 17 percent increase in participation and an 11 percent increase in revenues for the Community Education program.

LERN is an international association of lifelong learning programming offering information and resources to providers of lifelong learning programs including universities, colleges, continuing education programs and recreation programs.
