The Rogers Royals dominated the second half against a young St. Francis team and won 64-42 at home Thursday evening.
Emily Reichert tallied 15 points, Megan Dobberstein 10, and Shelby Darr, Jordyn Motter and Kelsey Frain eight each as the Royals enjoyed their typical balance.
“It was a nice way for our girls to bounce back from a tough game,” said coach Jeremy Digiovanni, referring to a 57-40 loss to Dassel-Cokato on Tuesday that’s the lone setback for the Royals (3-1). “They worked really hard in practice yesterday to correct some of the mistakes that hurt us Tuesday, and were able to carry it over to the game tonight.”
The Saints (1-2) stuck with the Royals for 10 minutes, trailed 28-21 at halftime, and got outscored 36-21 in the second half.
The Royals also hosted a Toys for Tots drive during the game.
Next is a game at North St. Paul on Tuesday.
