Gymnastics: Elks 6th in season-opening Perham meet

The Elk River-Rogers-Zimmerman gymnasts placed sixth among seven teams at the Jackie Mann Invitational in Perham on Saturday to open the season.

ERZ scored 133.45 points. All seven teams were in the 130′s led by Perham with 138.45.

Coach Jenn Bartlett said the Elks are working on skills and should be able to add three or four points in the vault when they start doing flips, which they didn’t include at Perham.

Jessica Gabriel of Bismarck Century won all the events and all-around with 36.85.

Elk senior Leah Perrault placed ninth all-around with 34.4 and third on beam with 9.40. Alyssa Walton was fourth on floor with 9.05 and fifth in bars with 9.10. Alana Embury was 10th on floor with 8.75.
