Assaulted woman called out for help on Main Street
Elk River police received a report shortly before 8 a.m. on Nov. 25 of a woman in the 900 block of Main Street walking down the street calling for help.
When they arrived they found a 25-year-old St. Francis woman with blood on her chest. The female stated an unidentified male had cut her with a razor. The victim had met the male earlier in the evening at a party in Big Lake. The female was transported via ambulance to the hospital; police are investigating.
Police respond to shooting complaint
Elk River police were called regarding a shooting complaint in the 21000 block of Vernon Street on the morning of Nov. 27. The complainant said she heard shots and then saw a man running with a long gun.
Police spoke to two men who live in the area, and they claimed to have been shooting a pellet gun. The homeowner and his son were warned about the complaint.
Attempt to buy Yorkies goes south for couple
An Elk River couple reported that they attempted to purchase two Yorkie puppies over the Internet from a party in Illinois, and now suspect that they have been scammed out of money.
They reportedly wired $800 via Western Union to Evansville, Ill., and have now been requested to send additional money to complete the purchase. The victims provided e-mails and phone numbers to police.
Fight at Time Out leads to two arrests
Elk River police were dispatched at 2:30 a.m. Nov. 24 to a large fight inside and outside Time Out Sports Bar.
Upon arrival, an assault was witnessed by police, and the suspect, a 35-year-old Elk River man, was charged with assault and disorderly conduct. A 25-year-old Elk River man was charged with disorderly conduct. He allegedly punched five or six people and placed the bouncer in a hold.
Motorist cited for endangering officer
A 48-year-old Monticello man was cited on Nov. 25 with failing to change lanes while passing an emergency vehicle after an officer observed the violation on Highway 10 in Elk River.
Siblings are arrested after incident at pub
Elk River police were called to McCoy’s Pub at about 9 p.m. on Nov. 26 for a report of disorderly patrons.
The investigation led to the arrest of a brother and sister from Andover and Elk River, respectively.
It was alleged that the female had assaulted a staff member and that the brother and sister were both told to leave the business but refused, Elk River Police Capt. Bob Kluntz reported.
Fake leather wallet with cash goes missing
A Zimmerman woman, 40, reported that her pink (fake leather) wallet had fallen out of her pocket on her way into the Dollar Store in Elk River. After realizing it was gone, she was unable to locate the wallet and believes it was stolen. The wallet contained nearly $250 in cash, two debit cards and her driver’s license.
Safe stolen in burglary of Elk River home
A 42-year-old Elk River man in the 10700 block of 203rd Avenue reported on Nov. 24 that unknown suspect(s) forced entry into his home and stole a safe. It appeared entry was initially attempted at the front door, but was actually gained through the garage service door.
TV taken from home
A 40-year-old Elk River man reported on the evening of Nov. 27 his front door in the 10600 block of 205th Avenue had been kicked in and his home was burglarized. It was reported that a television was missing from the home.
Elk River man, 33, reports burglary
A 33-year-old Elk River man in the 18300 block of Trott Brook Parkway in Elk River reported on the morning of Nov 24 that his home was burglarized. Taken were jewelry and sports memorabilia.
Tools, ATV taken from Elk Lake Road barn
A 53-year-old Big Lake man reported a barn located in the 22800 block of Elk Lake Road had been entered and tools and ATV accessories were stolen. He reported the incident at 4:11 p.m. on Nov. 27.
Stacy man spotted running red light
A 20-year-old Stacy man was cited with a semaphore violation shortly after 8 p.m. on Nov. 25 after an officer observed him proceed through an intersection at Jackson Avenue and Highway 10 at the railroad crossing in Elk River on a red light. The violation was captured on video.
Braham woman arrested for theft
A 25-year-old Braham woman was arrested for shoplifting at Walmart in Elk River after allegedly taking almost $600 in merchandise on Nov. 25. She was arrested for gross misdemeanor theft.
Thanksgiving meal was too much for man
An officer checked on a driver that was pulled over and vomiting near the intersection of Highway 10 and 167th Avenue in Elk River on the evening of Nov. 24.
The driver reported that he recently had surgery and that the large meal he had eaten for Thanksgiving did not agree with him.
Golden Valley man tagged for DWI
A Golden Valley man, 20, was arrested for DWI shortly after midnight on Nov. 24 after being stopped for speeding in the 22800 block of Highway 169 in Elk River. The driver was arrested for third-degree DWI after blowing a .12.
Otsego man, 42, says tools are missing
A 42-year-old Otsego man reported on Nov. 23 that a storage locker he was renting in the 11800 block of 191 1/2 Avenue in Elk River had been broken into and he was missing tools and metal. He told police that the lock had been cut from his storage locker.
Shooting scares up hunting violations
A resident in the 17900 block of Concord Street in Elk River reported that he heard gunshots near his home.
Officers eventually made contact with two juvenile males who were warned for several hunting violations.
