A new Angeno’s Pizza and Pasta is coming to Zimmerman soon. Owners Shawn Deilke and his business partner, Richard Eckert, currently own and operate Buffalo Bar and Grill in Buffalo.
Deilke says they’ve been looking to start another business for a while and have been keeping an eye out for good locations.
“Buffalo was already about as far out as I wanted to be,” Deilke said, adding that he lives in Livonia Township, less than three miles from the new pizza location.
“I wanted to stay north of the cities because I know the communities up here well,” he said, “so it was really great when all the cards fell perfectly into place for this Zimmerman location.”
The new Angeno’s Pizza will restore the empty space in Zimmerman left by Godfather’s Pizza when it closed. Next door, Deilke and Eckert also plan to launch the Zimmerman Bar and Grill soon in the former Fun City space.
“Right now, we have around 50 employees we’re starting to train for Angeno’s,” Deilke said, “and we plan to hire another 20–25 with the bar, which means around 75 jobs are coming to the Zimmerman area for starters.” Deilke thinks they’ll be adding even more employees once both businesses get on their feet.
“I sure hope it helps the local economy,” Deilke added, “because right now people need good, stable jobs in their communities with all the opportunities that the free market offers.”
Deilke says they chose to open an Angeno’s because Eckert is also an insurance agent for the Angeno’s Pizza in Rogers, so he knew the business well.
“Angeno’s is a dine-in restaurant that also delivers and has a pick-up window drive-through,” Deilke said, describing the business. “We don’t use frozen crusts or mixes; we craft our own pizza crusts and mix our own sausages and sauces.”
Deilke says their business model is very service-oriented, ensuring customer service is their No. 1 priority.
“Our doors will be opening next week,” Deilke added, “so come on by for great pizza and great service!”
Angeno’s Pizza and Pasta is located at 13100 Fremont Ave., just past City Hall, heading west on County Road 4.
