Marvin H. “Son” Reinking, 81, of Elk River, formerly of Minneapolis, died peacefully at home Friday, Nov. 18, 2011.
He retired from Lyon Food Products after 45 years and served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Reinking loved to fish, play bocce ball and play cards with his family and friends, and was known to croon a tune.
The funeral service was Monday, Nov. 21 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Corcoran/Maple Grove. Interment was at St. Martin/Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rogers, with arrangements by Dare’s Funeral Home of Elk River.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Marlene (nee Dahlheimer); children, Craig (Diane), Keith (Tami), Kevin, Bob (Darla), Dan (Anita) and Joni (Darryl) Lee; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Audrey (Alex) Hansen, Cheryl (Joe) Bogucki, and Sandra Scott; brother, Lyle (Dorothy); brother-in-law, Norman Bunting; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Arlene (Leo) Rol, Mardell (Emory) Theis, and Janice Bunting; brother, Floyd (JoAnn); brother-in-law, Walter Scott; and great-grandchild, Lilli Reese.
Memorials are preferred to the Struthers Parkinson’s Center, 6701 Country Club Dr., Minneapolis, Minn. 55427.
