Arnolds honored as Elk River Volunteer of the Month

Victor Arnold

Joanne Arnold

Joanne and Victor Arnold of Elk River have been named the City of Elk River Volunteer of the Month for November.
They were honored at the Monday, Nov. 21 Elk River City Council meeting and given a plaque.
Mayor John Dietz said Joanne has volunteered 25 years at the “country store” located at Guardian Angels. She shops for the store and runs the store and also shops for residents who need extra items that the store does not have. She often buys items from her own pocket to meet a need she knows about on a day she is not volunteering.
From February to April every Monday evening for the past 10 years, Vic has been filling out income tax forms for seniors at the Senior Center.
They both were honored last February as “Volunteer of the Year 2011 Aging Services of Minnesota.” They also are both honored every April by Guardian Angels.
