Lyle Otto Petersen, 85, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011.
Mr. Petersen was born April 1, 1926, to William C. and Minnie (Hagen) Petersen on the family farm in Dunnell, Minn. He attended rural grade school and was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1944, serving in Germany during World War II.
On Feb. 18, 1950, he married Rebecca Omundson in Fairmont, Minn. and later that year they moved to a farm in Zimmerman. He attended two years of agricultural school in Elk River. Along with farming he worked at Cornelius Co. in Anoka, retiring in 1988 after 20-plus years. Mr. Petersen was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Zimmerman.
The funeral service was Monday, Oct. 31 at St. John Lutheran Church in Zimmerman, officiated by the Rev. Tom Koellen. Interment was held at Livonia Cemetery, Zimmerman. Williams Dingmann Funeral Home of Princeton served the family.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca; son, Jerry (Marlys); daughter, Sheryl; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A brother, Donald preceded him in death.
